By the time most clients meet me, their lives already feel turned upside down. The choices before them carry weight far beyond the present moment, impacting their children and the future stability of their family as a whole. My role is to listen, provide clarity, and guide clients through the chaos, and I do so with honesty and compassion. After serving more than a decade as a public defender, I chose to shift my practice to family law so I could guide individuals and families through challenges that touch every part of their lives. Whether navigating divorce, resolving custody or child support disputes, or addressing other family-related matters, I am dedicated to understanding my clients’ needs, and advocating for solutions that serve their goals and their children’s best interests, while helping them move forward with strength and clarity. While I am a fierce advocate in the courtroom when necessary, my top priority is helping families avoid court whenever possible. Litigation rarely brings healing. Instead, it often deepens wounds, creates financial and emotional strain, and strips families of control at a time when they already feel overwhelmed and powerless. Judges, no matter how well-intentioned, cannot truly understand a family’s full history, dynamics, or children the way the family does, and they simply do not have the time to fully appreciate the nuances of each case. That is why I emphasize negotiation, mediation, and creative problem solving. I am straightforward and honest with my clients throughout this process, and I do not sugarcoat difficult realities. If I believe a client’s position is counterproductive to their ultimate goals, or unlikely to succeed in court, I will say so. By combining candor with compassion, I help clients navigate the high emotions of their situation with clarity and perspective, empowering them to find outcomes that reflect their values, protect themselves and their children, and preserve
