Fighting for Women with Fashion

A fashion show presented by Dillard’s, hosted by the Foundation for the Carolinas, and coordinated by the Charlotte Women’s Bar and the Women’s Physician Section of Mecklenburg County Medical Society, spent the summer raising funds to support United Family Services efforts to construct a new Domestic Violence Shelter.

Our efforts culminated with the event, catered by Something Classic, on Tuesday, September 18, 2012. One hundred percent of the ticket sales were donated directly to United Family Services. Additionally, raw figures suggest that the event raised substantially more money than it did last year and the two groups will likely be honored for their efforts by having a room at the new shelter named in their honor. Our firm, along with many others, contributed funds and in-kind items for a silent auction, all to benefit the shelter.
The models for the show were lawyers and physicians! Including our own Deb Dilman!  Everyone who attended had a great time while also raising funds for such an important local cause. Check out the pictures on the Fighting for Women with Fashion Facebook page and look for details for the third annual event in the fall of 2013! Thanks to everyone who helped make this 2nd annual event such a success.
